Moo 2 222, Daeng Yai, Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen 40000, Thailand
18 holes, par 72, opened in 2008. In common with soccer parlance ‘a course of two halves’; an easy front nine, more difficult and interesting back nine, this is reflected in the way the stroke indices have been allocated.
There are 4 sets of tees: ladies’ (red 5545 yards); men’s front (white 5982 yards); men’s back (yellow 6467 yards); competition (blue 6949 yards). Built on what was originally farmland the course is quite open and flat. The fairways are generous and of a reasonable standard although some bare patches can be found, especially in the ‘dry season’. The rough is fairly light with the grass being kept relatively short, sometimes it may be difficult to determine where the fairway ends and the rough begins. The greens are of average size, reasonable quality, consistent, with undulations and slopes. Bunkers have plenty of sand in them. Water hazards feature on 10 holes, none more so than the signature hole, the 11th, a par 3 where you drive to an island green. Overall a nice course to play where you cannot get into too much trouble, apart from water, and which will undoubtedly improve as it matures.
The club house has all the facilities you would expect; large locker rooms with plenty of showers, and an extensive range of food and drink served in a pleasant open restaurant/bar area. An hotel is attached to the club house.
